Bob is an avid outdoors person and traveler. Having grown up in rural settings his interest in the Canadian landscape comes naturally. He can be found sketching, painting and photographing wherever he travels in the world, but he prefers the beauty of western Canada. Bob has taken numerous courses and attended several group instructional sessions in Europe, Mexico, New York and at Emily Carr College in Vancouver. He has had several one-man shows and participated in many group shows. In recent years he has enjoyed painting en plein air with this enthusiastic group of artists Men In Hats.
I am challenged to create works which are representational but not photographic, colorful but not unrealistic, interesting in their composition and technically correct. To achieve a goodly measure of the above I am constantly reminded that art is a wonderful, lifelong learning process. It is a journey for which I am very blessed to be on, as it has taught me to look, see and appreciate that which is so often missed or ignored. The rewards are very personal and come with every new level of achievement.
