Raised in a family of professional artists in Brentwood Bay, Jennifer’s inherent creativity has been refined through years of study & practice in art and design.
Her aesthetic foundations were shaped by a background on the commercial side of both fine art and graphic design, grounded by studies in art history, fine art and design at the University of Victoria, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, and the British Columbia Institute of Technology. Her dedicated exploration of various painting media has culminated in a rewarding process exploiting the unique characteristics of mixing media and substrates. The resulting work reveals a devotion to the character of light and how it describes areas of extraordinary beauty in unexpected ways.
Jennifer’s experience and appreciation of a variety of media fuels her contagious excitement for the creative process, which she has enjoyed sharing as an instructor for BCIT, Phoenix Art Workshop and various art groups. Finding continual inspiration in the creative community, photography and travel, Jennifer revels in working and living with her family in scenic Steveston, an historic fishing village outside Vancouver.
